Jordan Vauvert Pour Salqiu Laurentius, le Feu de la création n'est pas un sujet de plaisanteries : se faisant le réceptacle d'idées diaboliques, il enregistre Orfeu en l'espace de six jours seulement — est-ce qu'il se repose le septième ? Vu le rythme de ses sorties, rien n'est moins sûr — et élabore quatre voyages orphiques au cœur des Enfers, aux percussions sauvages ("Orfeu I" et "Orfeu II") et aux constructions psychédéliques, inattendues ("Orfeu III"). Cet album, c'est l'or, c'est le feu. Indispensable ! Favorite track: Orfeu II.

This album is to be listened as the recital of a poem. A dark, twisted, surrealist poem. Any other mindset will not allow your full enjoyment of the concept. It portrays the raging inner turmoil of Orpheus, ending in it's descending to Hell...where he embraces the darkest of his thoughts, and is able to put them into words.

Musically, the album presents a mix of Mellotrons, Piano, Harp, Violins, Cellos, Trombone, Trumpet, African Percussion, Middle Eastern instruments, Trance rhythms, Real Oboé and Sax, Cinematic FX, Psychedelic guitars and... Black Metal...
It's a voyage through uncanny and new territories, as SALQIU always strives to offer.

This is an exercise in futility. An antidote to the "prison" to which I've been confined, aiming to dive deep into the realms of the madness we are trying to prevent during these rough times.
By facing madness one becomes prepared to embrace and expose it.
The album was recorded in about 6 days during the course of 3 weeks.
Most vocals were done art first take, with no previous rehearsal, so they are the spur of the moment.

Orfeu III is the complete revamp of an old tune (one of my first recorded tracks) from some 7 years ago.

I dedicate this album to Mattos Maul.
During my early years he was an inspiration, a friend and a constant collaborator of my music. He has retired from music a few years ago. His music, his long list of albums is of high quality rock/hard prog, but he never got proper recognition.
He'll always be a better musician then I will ever be...
